The Rotary Club of Balintawak was Chartered on June 9, 1980 and belonged to then Rotary International District 380.  Though it has only a present membership of 34, it was adjudged for RY 2006-2007 as one of the Top 5 Outstanding Clubs in District 3780 which is composed of more than 90 clubs.

One particular member, a Charter Member at that has shone briefly in the Rotary Firmament of Service in the person of PDG Gil Divinagracia who served as District Governor in RY 1997-1998 and presently serves RI as Regional Rotary Foundation Chairman.

SIGNATURE PROJECTS OF THE CLUB

 A.  COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Club has started a college scholarship program for the top graduates of Balingasa High School in 1982 and has presently graduated more than 70 students in different colleges and universities in Metro Manila.  Presently, the Club has 20 scholars enrolled in various 4 and 5-year courses.  All scholarship grants are provided by the Rotary Club of Balintawak Foundation, Inc.

B.  BIGAY LINAW PROGRAM
A continuing signature project that is as old as the Club itself that provides Vision Screening, Corrective Eyeglasses, Reading Glasses and Cataract Extractions for the indigents of Quezon City and various parts of the country.  This project has benefited no less than a hundred thousand patients over the years.

NEW SIGNATURE PROJECT 
A new Signature Project to be launched by the Club this year is Project OYSTER (Out of School Youth Schooling, Employment and Re-Tooling).  A Matching Grant of $10,000 was recently approved for the project. 
  

PARTNERS IN SERVICE

 1.  ROTARACT – the Club is proud to have as Partners in Service two community base Rotaract Clubs, RAC Balintawak and RAC Balingasa and one school based club, RAC AMA Computer University . We are the only club in our district to have more than one Rotaract Club. 

 2.  INTERACT – the Club has two Interact clubs, IAC Balingasa High School and  AMA Computer University High School and is in the process of forming the Interact Club of St. Joseph High School.  Again, we are the only Rotary Club in the district to have more than one Interact club.

 3. HONORARY MEMBERS – the Club has traditionally inducted numerous honorary members who have helped the club in attaining the service objectives.  Again, we have the reputation in the district as the club with the most number of honorary members.       

 5.  SISTER CLUBS – Over the years, the Club had Sisterhood Agreements with Local and Foreign Rotary Clubs but among the lasting and cooperative matches have been with the following:

A.   Rotary Club of Isesaki Chuo in Japan , which has been our partner for about 25 years and has actively supported financiallyour scholarship program.
B.     Rotary Club of Baguio North, Metro Iloilo and Bacolod South
C.     For RY 2007-2008 we planned to forge sisterhood agreements with RC Dagupan, RC Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan, RC Leyte Gulf, Tacloban City, RC Bukit Bintang in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and RC Makati.
